My past few weeks

It's been hectic here! This time next week I will be officially moved in with my wonderful boyfriend and I will have (largely) moved out of my university house - only returning at the end of May to finish up uni work by presenting my dissertation to a group of markers. It's been a wild three years full of love, laughter and far too many tears and I'm not really sure how I feel about leaving this little town; but being able to live with my boyfriend and close to my family rather than having to make a 5 hour door to door trip will be amazing.

As you can imagine, the end of uni has meant that I've been pretty hectic so my filo has been put to good use. Here's the last four weeks in my diary pages:

And here's the week coming up:

I always feel, no matter what, my diary pages are quite clunky and unappealing to look at :( I need to stop writing things in with black felt tip in big letters I think! Even though I'm finishing uni on Thursday I'm very busy over the next three months so having my filo to hand is going to be even more important.

My Week #2 (+3)

Whoops, last week got kinda busy at the end and I didn't have time to post my photo before Paper did her review so I thought I'd just keep it til this week (after all, it's not going anywhere!). This week has been less busy but still quite hectic - it's tiring work being in your last semester of university!

In week 2 I tried out a new tactic of colour coding each day separately, as you can see...

Not really my favourite thing if I'm honest. I love colour but it's too much and it's still really quite messy - plus it's a hassle trying to keep hold of the same pen for the day and remembering to switch when I need to write something new in etc. etc.

Week 3 I tried out another new tactic, this time writing everything in my fountain pen (which is black ink, I swear, but for some reason dries a really weird light brown colour... like it was written 100 years ago!). This I much prefer - the stickers and washi tape add colour but it's much neater and more organised. I think I will probably be sticking with this and just using one colour for very important dates.

For those that are interested, this is dried fountain pen ink vs fresh ink...

Odd, right?! Ah well. I quite like the brown... would be nice to have it stay black though.

I hope you've all had a good week :)

My diary

Ok, so it's not a Filo post! But it should hopefully be interesting.

I love reading other people's stationery blogs, especially when they post how they're using their tools to organise their life. Most people seem to use a Filofax but as per my previous post you guys know that currently, I don't!

Instead, I use this beauty:

It's from Paperchase, and was a birthday present from my gorgeous sister!

During the holidays, it didn't get much use... I think this was my busiest day...

However, take a look at the last three weeks, in which I've done freshers and started year three of my Psychology degree (eek!)

Phew! It's been hectic here! As you can see, there's not a massive amount of space in my diary for writing things down each day. So I have to use post it notes stuck on the divider to make sure I can see clearly where I'm going and at what time! The first 'checked' page shows my little key for my diary, I stuck to that about a week... The trouble is, the pens I used to colour code it with don't fit in my pencil case and I can't carry them round with me!

I suppose the biggest advantage of this diary is I have an in-built to do list on the checkered side of the page. The biggest disadvantage is that I'm used to using day per page diaries and the day slots are just so damn tiny! It is however pretty and I've got space at the back to write up a detailed blow by blow account of my (for this semester) three assignments and one exam. It also has address pages and a zip pocket at the back. It's very practical!

I'm hoping this will become a weekly slot, but who knows!
